Biceps Tendinitis / Rupture

Biceps tendinitis is an inflammation or irritation of the upper biceps tendon. Common symptoms are pain and weakness in the front of the shoulder

Frozen Shoulder

A condition that causes pain and stiffness in the shoulder joint, limiting its range of motion.

Illustration

Labral Tear/ Shoulder Dislocation

A tear in the ring of cartilage (labrum) that lines the edge of the shoulder joint socket. This kind of surgery is performed for shoulder dislocation.

Rotator Cuff Tear

The rotator cuff is a group of tendons that are the primary tendons of the shoulder. Symptoms of rotator cuff tears include pain, weakness, and decreased motion. Partial thickness tears may be managed non-operatively, whereas full thickness tears typically require surgery to address pain and functional deficit.

Acromioclavicular (AC) Joint Arthritis

The Acromioclavicular joint (AC joint) sits directly above the shoulder. AC joint arthritis happens in heavy weight lifters and people who perform repetitive overhead activities. Management includes injections, pain control, and when needed arthroscopic excision.

Acromioclavicular (AC) Joint Dislocation

Dislocation of the joint above the shoulder, typically from high energy falls ( eg bicycle accidents, fall from height, etc.). Depending on the severity of the injury, treatment will include either physiotherapy or surgery for fixation.

Shoulder Arthritis

Loss of the space and cartilage cap between the bones in the shoulder (glenohumeral) joint. This leads to pain and limitation in movement. When non-operative measures fail, may require surgery for shoulder replacement.

Clavicle Fracture

Clavicle fractures are amongst the most common fractures around the shoulder. Even though most fractures are managed non-operatively, surgery is indicated in cases of displacement and shortening to maintain optimal function of the shoulder joint.

Proximal Humerus Fracture

Proximal Humerus fractures are extemely common. They are by default, osteoporotic fractures that can happen with low energy injuries. Moist fractures are managed without surgery, until the bone heals. On occasion, those fratures require surgery with plate fixation, and in some cases shoulder replacement

Achilles Rupture

Achilles ruptures typically happen as the result of an explosive effort (sprint / jump)

Illustration

Achilles Tendinitis

Inflammation of the Achilles tendon, causing pain and stiffness in the back of the ankle, often resulting from overuse, repetitive stress, or inadequate stretching.

ACL Injury

A tear or sprain of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the knee, which commonly occurs during sports activities or sudden movements that involve twisting or pivoting of the knee

Illustration

Distal Biceps Rupture

A tear or separation of the biceps tendon. It typically leads to sudden pain, weakness, and a noticeable bulge or deformity in the arm

Illustration

Hamstring Injuries

Hamstring injuries involve straining or pulling one of the hamstring muscles and often occur in people who play sports that involves sprinting with sudden stops and starts.

Illustration

Meniscus Tear

A knee injury that involves damage to the rubbery cartilage between the thigh and shin bones, causing pain, swelling, and potential joint instability.

Illustration

Patellar Tendon Tear

The patellar tendon attaches the bottom of the kneecap to the top of the shinbone. When it tears, you often experience a popping sensation followed by pain and swelling.

Illustration

Quadriceps Tendon Tear

The quadriceps tendon helps straighten the knee from a bent position. Tears often occur when there is a heavy load on the leg with the foot planted and the knee partially bent.

Unstable Kneecap/ Patellar Dislocation

Patellar dislocations are usually caused by non-contact injuries, such as a pivot, twist, or awkward fall. A sharp blow to the kneecap could also pop the patella out of place.
